This week, we studied a different culture every day. This was a true community effort. We had speakers come to our school, and we went to the Elkin Public Library on Friday. Learning about people, cultures and traditions from around the world is important for understanding our global community. It helps bring us closer together and promotes peace. Also, as the children grow older, a sense of global awareness will become even more important to their education and ultimately their future careers. Our students had so much fun learning about people that live in other lands. Most of their questions centered around what they eat, what they watch on TV and what their laws are like in other countries.
